William Conrad Weilert passed away Friday, October 22, 2021, at his home in Kismet, Kansas. William (Bill) was born November 4, 1931, to Michael and Catherine (Rumbach) Weilert in Ness City, Kansas. In 1949, at the age of 17, Bill enlisted into the U.S. Army. While stationed at Fort Lawton, Washington he met and married his wife Dorothy O’Brien on June 16, 1952. To their union were born Deborah, Michael, David, Diane, and Patricia. Upon his return from South Korea in 1953, Bill moved his family to Dodge City, Kansas. Then relocated to Liberal, Kansas in 1955, where he worked for Pittman Feed Co. for the next 25 years, during this time he moved to Kismet, Kansas to manage the grain elevator. He then worked for DeKalb Swine until his retirement in 1996. Bill was an avid fisherman, woodworker, and gardener. He planted a moderate size orchard and large vegetable gardens. One venture consisted of planting 200 tomato plants along with numerous other vegetables with five children there was plenty of hands to weed and water. His greatest joy of all came from his large family. Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy, son Michael, sister Bennah Hull, brothers William Edmond and Cyril Clarence Weilert and son-in-law, Rich Harp. He is survived by son, David (Vicki Landon) Weilert, Austin, Texas, daughters, Deborah Weilert, Kismet, Diane (Lynn) Revard, Goshen, Indiana, and Patricia Harp, Liberal. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren along with sisters, Rose Lehman, Baldwin, New York, Ruth Baird, Reeds Spring, MO, and Wilma Hall, Jaima Olivarez, and Mary (Jim) of Dodge City, Kansas. Graveside Services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Restlawn Cemetery, 8955 Hwy 83, Liberal, Kansas with Pastor Tom Patterson presiding.
