Sylvia Francis Moreno

Sylvia Francis Moreno, 66, died Thursday, February 24, 2022 at her residence in Liberal, Kansas. She was born on May 18, 1955 in Ulysses, Kansas, the daughter of Merejildo and Mollie (Cruz) Padilla. Sylvia was a member of the Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses. She had a loving, open and forgiving heart for everyone. She loved her dog, and would also take care of stray dogs that came her way. Sylvia is survived by: 2 Sons Orlando Padilla and his wife Mel of Liberal, Kansas Juan Carlos Padilla and his wife Adela of Derby, Kansas 1 Daughter Liz Valles and her husband Jesus of Tyrone, Oklahoma 2 brothers Abel Padilla of Lyons, Kansas Merejildo D. Padilla of Ulysses, Kansas 4 sisters Elvia Padilla of Van Buren, Arkansas Debbie Porras of Liberal, Kansas Gloria Guzman of Ark City, Kansas Brenda Padilla of Manchester, Tennessee 10 Grandchildren Many Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers; LeeRoy and Robert Padilla. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 9 am to 7pm at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, KS 67901. Vigil Rosary will follow at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 10 am at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N Calhoun Ave, Liberal, KS 67901. Inurnment will take place at the Ulysses Cemetery at a later date.
