Sophia B. Herrera 101, died Thursday Dec. 29, 2011 at Liberal Good Samaritan Center in Liberal, KS. She was born May 23, 1910 in San Louis, Colorado the daughter of Jose Louis and Fedelina (Mondragon) Valdez. She had been a longtime resident of the Boone, CO area moving to Liberal, KS to be with family.She was a member of the St Williams Catholic Church and the Alter Society of Boone, CO.In 1928 she married Joe Abel Sierra at San Louis Valley, CO and he died July 26, 1961.On Nov. 4, 1972 she married Frank Herrera in Pueblo, CO and he died Feb. 16, 1992.Survivors include.2 Sons Ernest Sierra and wife Maris Denver, CO Joe Sierra and wife Theresa Liberal, KS 4 Daughters Dora Montano Odessa, TX Benny Montano and husband Dave Las Vegas, NM Rose Marrufo and husband Eustacio Liberal, KS Linda Martinez and husband Tony Liberal, KS 2 Sisters Belinda Valdez Pueblo, CO Celsa Martinez Rawlins, WY30 Grandchildren and many great grand and great great grand childrenPreceded in death by 3 sons Fred, Orlando and Eloy Sierra, one daughter Mary Pinkham. Rosary will be held at 6:00 pm MT Monday at Sacred Heart Church in Avondale, CO. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am MT Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Sacred Heart Church in Avondale, CO with Fr. William Gleeson Presiding.
