Liberal, KS Santos Portillo, 68, died, Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS.He was born November 2, 1945 in Chihuahua, Mexico, the son of Manuel Portillo and Justina Villa. He had worked at National Beef for 40 years. He was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church. He loved being with his family and was an avid horse race spectator.On October 17, 1966, he married Rosa Maria Soto in Mexico and she survives.Other Survivors include3 Sons- Jose Portillo and wife Araceli, Liberal, KS; Benito Portillo and wife Cynthia, Wichita, KS; Cesar Portillo, Albuquerque, NM;1 Daughter- Rosa Perea and husband Joey, Amarillo, TX;2 Brothers- Jesus Portillo, Mexico; Delfino Portillo, Mexico;2 Sisters- Lupe Fierro, Keyes, OK; Maria Portillo, Phoenix, AZ; 12 Grandchildren- Brett Portillo, Andrea Portillo, Andrew Portillo, Adan Portillo, Julia Portillo, Jasmin Portillo, Michael Perea, Raquel Houston, Gabriel Portillo, Christian Portillo, Teagan Portillo, and Amerie Portillo.1 Great-Grandson - Tre Lynn PortilloHe was preceded in death by 2 Brothers Gregorio Portillo, Leocadio Portillo; 2 Sisters Angela Duran and Baldomera Portillo.Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Fr. George Fajardo presiding. Burial will be at Restlawn Cemetery.Rosary and Vigil service will be held at 7:00 pm Sunday at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Visitation time will be 1 to 8 pm Saturday and 1 to 5 pm Sunday at Brenneman Funeral Home.
