Richard L. Hackett, 67, died Friday, January 26, 2018, at SWMC in Liberal.
He was born on September 03, 1950 in Davenport, IA, the son of Joan Beuthien.
He attended Liberal High School, where he graduated in 1970. He then attended Liberal Votech for one year.
On June 6, 1972, he married Vickie Tharp. She survives.
Richard started his career in the grocery business as a courtesy clerk at Safeway, where he worked his way up to Dairy Manager. He also worked at Homeland, Food Bonanza, Econo Foods, and most recently in the produce department at Wal-Mart where he retired from.
Richard was a devout member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, attending the Liberal Kingdom Hall. He also loved to fish, loved puzzles such as Sudoku, card games such as Skip Bo, talking to people about the Bible, and his volunteer work.

A memorial service will take place at 2:00pm Saturday, February 3, at the Liberal Kingdom Hall, with Dave Vartian giving the memorial talk.
