Martin Herrera Chavez

Martin Herrera Chavez passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

 

He was born on July 9, 1994, to Martimiano Herrera Leos and Maria (Chavez) Herrera in Liberal.  

 

Martin Graduated from Liberal High School, and then went to work for Loves and then Dollar General.  

Martin loved to play Xbox with friends and nephews. He enjoyed spending time with his dog “Peanut”. He was a funny guy and always looked after everyone before himself. He loved to spend time with his friends. He loved to dance even though he would always say he did not know how to.

 

He is survived by;

His parents, Martin and Maria Herrera, of Liberal, Kansas

 

Sisters Norma Cazares and her husband Efrain, of Liberal, Kansas

Maria E. Herrera of Liberal, Kansas

 

10 Nieces and Nephews, with whom Martin was very close,

 

Pilar, Alan, Irvin, Azael and Zayla Cazares; Gilberto, Pedro and Giselle Garcia; Yael Gaytan and Azrael Munos.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jose Herrera, Julia Leos, Pedro Chavez and Erlinda Burgos.

 

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 9am to 5pm at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd St., Liberal, KS, 67901.

Rosary will follow at 7pm at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N. Calhoun Ave, Liberal, KS 67901.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am, Thursday, June 13, 2024 at St. Anthony, with Rev. Charles Seiwert Celebrating.

 

Burial to follow at Liberal Cemetery.

Martín Herrera Chávez falleció el jueves 6 de junio de 2024 en Southwest Medical Center en Liberal.

 

Nació el 9 de julio de 1994 de Martimiano Herrera Leos y María (Chávez) Herrera en Liberal.   

 

Martin se graduó de la escuela secundaria Liberal y luego comenzó a trabajar para Family Dollar, Luego Loves y despues para Dollar General.  

A Martin le encantaba jugar Xbox con amigos y sobrinos. Disfrutaba pasar tiempo con su perro “Peanut”. Era un tipo divertido y siempre cuidaba de todos antes que de sí mismo.  El disfrutaba pasar tiempo con sus amigos. Le encantaba bailar aunque siempre decía que no sabía hacerlo.

 

Le sobreviven;

Sus padres, Martimiano y María Herrera, de Liberal, Kansas.

 

Hermanas Norma Cazares y su esposo Efraín, de Liberal, Kansas

María E. Herrera de Liberal, Kansas

 

Tres sobrinas y siete sobrinos, con quienes Martin era muy cercano,

 

Pilar, Alan, Irvin, Azael y Zayla Cazares; Gilberto, Pedro y Giselle García; Yael Gaytán y Azrael Muños.

 

Le precedieron en la muerte sus abuelos, José Herrera, Julia Leos, Pedro Chávez y Erlinda Burgos.

 

El velorio será el miércoles 12 de junio de 2024 de 9 am a 5 pm en Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd St., Liberal, KS, 67901.

El Rosario seguirá a las 7 p.m. en la Iglesia Católica San Antonio de Padua, 1510 N. Calhoun Ave, Liberal, KS 67901.

 

La misa fúnebre será a las 10 a.m. el jueves 13 de junio de 2024 en St. Anthony, con el reverendo Charles Seiwert celebrando.

 

El sepelio se realizará en el Cementerio Liberal.
