Marla D. (Elmore) Hodges

Marla Dianne (Elmore) Hodges, 43, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, in Rochester, MN after a sudden illness. She was born January 10, 1969, to Monty and Joy (Harding) Elmore in Liberal, KS.She graduated from Fellowship Baptist School and attended colleges at Seward County Community College in Liberal, KS, Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO and Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, OK. She worked for Patrick Well Service, Inc. for many years and currently was co-owner of Superior Servicing, Inc. in Liberal, KS. Marla was also the ceramics teacher for SCCC at the Liberal Senior Center. She was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church working in the bus ministry and working with the Best Years Club. She was very active in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.Marla is survived by her two children, Olivia Dianne Hodges, 18, and Kolton Drew Hodges, 14, both of the home and her divorced husband, David Hodges of Liberal, KS. Other survivors are her parents, Monty and Joy Elmore, Liberal, KS, one sister, LaVonna and husband Richard Gonzales, Liberal, KS and one nephew, Trevor Gonzales, Liberal, KS and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Richard and Willie Mae Elmore and Hugh and Gladys Harding, two aunts, Louise Schupman and Phyllis Bromwell and four uncles, Robert “Bob” Harding, Jack Schenkel, Jimmy Elmore and Gary Keith Elmore.Funeral service will be 10:00 am Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Fellowship Baptist Church, 310 W. Pancake in Liberal, KS with Pastor Bill Prater presiding. Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery.Visitation will be from 3 – 5 pm Sunday and 9 am – 8 pm Monday at Brenneman Funeral Home. Family will be present to greet friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 – 7 pm.Memorials are suggested to the bus ministry at Fellowship Baptist Church or to the Liberal Senior Center both in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
