Manuel Duran-Hernandez, age 62, died on Friday, April 19, 2024, at his residence in Liberal, Kansas.

 

He was born on January 11, 1962, the son of Jesus Duran and Aurora Hernandez in Chihuahua, Mexico.

 

Manuel was an over the road truck driver for many years. He was always known to be very happy and very calm. He was a good friend and always willing to lend a helping hand to his friends and family. Manuel was a very good cook and cooked all kinds of food. He was always very nicely dressed, most often in a suit. Manuel was a ladies’ man. He lived most of his life in Texas. Manuel was deeply loved and will be missed by his family and friends.

 

He is survived by his eight brothers, 

Florentino,

Jesus Ubaldo, 

Martin,

Jaime,

Dolores,

Juan Carlos,

Ramon, and

Jose Ines,

 

Four sisters,

Aurora,

Manuela,

Lorenza,

And Rosa Maria, and

Numerous nephews, and nieces.

 

He was preceded in death by his 

Parents, Jesus Duran, and Aurora Hernandez, and 

Sister, Rosalia and her husband, Valentin Rey.

 

Visitation will be 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas. 

 

Rosary to follow at 7:00 PM, Thursday, April 25, 2024, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas.

 

The funeral mass will be 10:00 AM, Friday, April 26, 2024, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Reverend Charles Seiwert celebrating.

 

Burial to follow at Liberal Cemetery.

Manuel Durán-Hernández, de 62 años, falleció el viernes 19 de abril de 2024 en su residencia de Liberal, Kansas.

 

Nació el 11 de enero de 1962, hijo de Jesús Durán y Aurora Hernández en Chihuahua, México.

 

Manuel fue camionero durante muchos años. Siempre fue conocido por ser muy feliz y muy tranquilo. Era un buen amigo y siempre estaba dispuesto a ayudar a sus amigos y familiares. Manuel era muy buen cocinero y cocinaba todo tipo de comida. Siempre iba muy bien vestido, la mayoría de las veces con traje. Vivió la mayor parte de su vida en Texas. Manuel era profundamente querido y su familia y amigos lo extrañarán.

Padres, Jesús Durán y Aurora Hernández, y

Hermana Rosalía y su esposo Valentín Rey.

 

El velorio será de 10:00 a. m. a 5:00 p. m., el jueves 25 de abril de 2024, en Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

 

El Rosario seguirá a las 7:00 p. m., jueves 25 de abril de 2024, en la Iglesia Católica San Antonio de Padua, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas.

 

La misa fúnebre será a las 10:00 a. m. del viernes 26 de abril de 2024 en la iglesia católica San Antonio de Padua con el reverendo Charles Seiwert celebrando.

 

Seguirá el entierro en el Cementerio Liberal.
