Loren Edward Wenzel 88, of Liberal, died July 12, 2017 at his home. He was born June 11 1929 in Benton County, MN to Henry Wenzel and Minnie Stephan Wenzel.
Loren attended Maplewood Academy in Hutchinson, KS graduating in 1947. He attended the Brown Institute in Minneapolis, MN for 1 year in 1962.
Loren served in Korea from 1950 to 1953 in Company B 64th Tank Battalion.
In 1953 he married Grace Wiley. She preceded him in death.
Loren marred Karen Ione Tollefsrud September 3, 1966 in Clayton, NM. She survives.
In 1966 he went to work for the Tri State Two Way Radio and worked there until 1983 when he purchased the business and continued working there until his retirement in 1996.
He was a life member of the VFW and American Legion. Loren loved to make headbands for cowboy hats.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Vernon Wenzel.
Memorial services will be 10:00 am Friday, August 4, 2017 at the Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ryan Watson officiating.
Memorials may be made in Loren’s name to the Seventh Day Adventist Church for Evangelism in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd St. Liberal, KS 67901
Inurnment will be in the Kansas Veteran’s Cemetery at Fort Dodge with military honors.
