Lisha Gayle Banning

Lisha Gayle Banning, age 50, died Dec. 19, 2011 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, KS.She was born June 17, 1961 at Guymon, OK, the daughter of Larry and Lora (Long) Kirk.She was a 1979 graduate of Tyrone High School.Lisha, who fought a long hard battle with cancer, first being diagnosed in 2002, contracted pneumonia before passing away. She had worked at C-Mart in Tyrone for 22 years. Lisha has served the City of Tyrone as Mayor for 6 years. She was also very active in the Tyrone Booster Club and the Little League program. On Sept. 1, 1979, she married Brett Banning at Liberal, KS. He survives.Other survivors include:1 Son: Travis and wife Kristi of Tyrone, OK1 Daughter: Angela Banning of Oklahoma City, OKMother: Lora English and husband Bob of Tyrone, OK1 Brother: Gary Kirk of Broken Arrow, OKAnd her puppy HPShe was preceded in death by her Father. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Friday, Dec. 23rd at Tyrone School Auditorium with Pastor Bill Prater presiding. Burial will follow at Tyrone Cemetery, Tyrone OK.Visitation will be on 1 – 8 pm Thursday with family present to greet friends from 6:30 – 7:30 pm at Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal, KS.In lieu of flowers and plants, memorial contributions may be made to the Tyrone Booster Club in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
