Judy Curry

Judith Louise (Sillin) Curry Judy went home to be with the Lord on November 1, 2011. She was born to Lloyd Wayne and Dorothy Ann (Dimick) Sillin in Liberal, on January 22, 1947. She was a lifetime resident of Liberal. Upon graduation from Liberal High School in 1965, Judy began studying for a Kansas real estate license. Passing the exam in 1976, she worked with her husband in the real estate business. Judy later studied to be a Dietary Manager. Receiving state certification, she became employed by the Good Samaritan Center, retiring after 18 years. She married Jay Thomas Ewalt, on January 19, 1964 in Liberal. To that union were born 2 children – Christopher Thomas and Jayme Leanne. On July 26, 1985, Judy married Roger Kent Curry, in Perryton, Texas. Survivors include her son Christopher Ewalt, and wife Michelle; her daughter Jayme Applebee, and husband Gordon; 5 wonderful grandchildren, Austin and Andrew Applebee, Seth and Arron Hardin and Harley Ewalt; 1 brother, Greg Sillin, of Liberal; 1 sister, Lisa Hasty, of Wichita; her mother-in-law, Marge Curry; 1 sister-in-law, Connie Jordan; 1 brother-in-law, Dennis Curry; 2 nieces and 2 nephews. Judy was a loving mother and grandmother. She liked to knit and garden, as well as spend time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Fred and Carrie Dimick; a sister, Carol Arthurs and father-in-law, George Curry. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday at Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dee Estes and Judy Barnes. A private family burial will be in Liberal Cemetery.Visitation will be 1 – 8 pm Thursday and 9 am until service time Friday, with the family present to receive friends on Thursday from 6:30 – 8 pm at Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd., Liberal, KS 67901.
