John Burnett Walker, age 75, died Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal, Kansas. He was born on September 16, 1945, the son of Herbert and Marie (Burnett) Walker in Alamogordo, New Mexico. John graduated from Capitan, New Mexico High School in 1964. He continued his education at Brown Institute of Electronics, Mpls, Minnesota graduating in 1969. He served in the US Army in Germany from 1965 through 1967. John married Luana Vigness on July 5, 1969, in Cromwell, Minnesota. He worked for several railroads for 24 years and National Beef before retiring. For nearly 45 years John enjoyed camping and fishing. He also tinkered with his cars and carpentry. John loved his family with all his heart. Survived by: Wife, Luana Walker of Turpin, Oklahoma Two sons, Daniel (Melissa) and David Walker of Clarksville, Tennessee Three grandchildren, Kyle, Jacqueline and Kelley of Clarksville, Tennessee One sister, Alma (Ronnie) Chambers of Roswell, New Mexico Many nephews, nieces and extended family and friends John was preceded in death by both his parents, Herbert and Marie Walker and his infant son, Nathan. Visitation will be 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Sunday, June 6, 2021, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Street Liberal, Kansas Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Monday, June 7, 2021 at the Turpin Methodist Church, 207 S.
