Joan Pauline Bourell, 83, died Sept. 18, 2013 at Namaste Alzheimer’s Center in Colorado Springs, CO.She was born Dec. 12, 1929 at Macksville, KS, the daughter of Joseph and Iva Pauline (Broadfoot) Wolf. She went to school in St. John and Hutchinson, KS. She worked with family at Bourell’s Carpet and Drapery in Hutchinson for many years. Managing the Drapery department, she was both the designer and the seamstress, hand sewing much of the drapery work.She had also been a cook for Prosperity Grade School.She was a longtime member of the Crossroads Christian Church, Hutchinson.On Feb. 4, 1949, she married Kenneth Lowell Bourell in Hutchinson. He preceded her in death in Apr. 26, 2000.Survivors includeSon – Tim Bourell of Liberal, KS;Daughter – Lorilei Bourell of Colorado Springs, CO;6 Grandchildren: Christine Owens, Luke Wedel, Zach Bourell, Gretchen Stebbins, Katie Kline and Peter Lydon.11 Great-GrandchildrenSon-in-law – Rod Wedel of Athens, TXShe was preceded in death by Daughter, Linda Wedel and Daughter-in-law, Shirley Bourell.Graveside Service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, Sept. 25th at Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park in Hutchinson with Pastor Wayne Pittman presiding.
