James L. "Sam" Abbott

James L. “Sam” Abbott, age 65, died July 9, 2011 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS. He was born December 8, 1945 in Cordell, Oklahoma, the son of Mabel Abbott.He attended Liberal High School and had been a longtime Liberal resident.He worked at Koochel’s Parts Plus and had worked for Wettstein Farms for 10 years. He retired in April 2010.He enjoyed car racing, being a mechanic and doing handyman work. He was a member of Risen Glory Church.On April 28, 1988 he married Jenny Wilson in Liberal, KS. She survives.Other survivors include5 Sons Travis Abbott and wife Tammy Liberal, KS; Brandon Abbott Liberal, Ks; Shane Abbott and wife Missy Wichita, KS; Johnathan Wilson Liberal, KS and Micheal Wilson Liberal, KS. 2 Daughters Amy Mease and husband Chris Wichita, KS; Cassie Nutt and husband Shawn Liberal, KS.10 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents.Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ann Holman presiding. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery.Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 pm Monday and 9:00 am – 8:00 pm Tuesdaywith the family present from 6:30-8:00 pm Tuesday at Brenneman Funeral Home.Memorial contributions may be sent to James L.
