James “Jim” A. Carlile, age 73, died Thursday, September 23, 2021, at his home in Liberal, Kansas. He was born September 23, 1948, the son of Bernard Carlile and Betty Segar in Liberal, Kansas. Jim graduated Liberal High School in 1966. He served in Vietnam in the Navy. On September 17, 1989, Jim married Theresa F. Waybright. Jim worked for Carlile Water Well, Carlile Asphalt, J&R Sand, and was also a Computer Programmer. Jim was a farmer and rancher. He enjoyed participating in Cutting Horse Competitions. Survived by His wife, Theresa Carlile of Liberal, Kansas Daughter, Kaitlin N. Carlile of Overland Park, Kansas Brother, Tommy Hartnett of Montgomery, Texas, sisters, Sandy (Dale) Dixon of Mustang, Oklahoma, and Diana (Rick) Elliott of Liberal, Kansas, Sisters in law, Glenda (Arden) Webb of Hugoton, Kansas, and Karen (Lynn) Clements of Logan, Kansas, Mother-in-law, Delores Waybright of Liberal, Kansas Jennifer and John Tanner of Kismet, Kansas Mersadez and Andrew Lee, Ilyana Lee, of Milburn, Oklahoma Trevor & Brendan Tanner of Kismet, Kansas And Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews Preceded in death by his father Bernard Carlile and stepmother, Lonetta Carlile, Jim’s mother, Betty (Seger) Baskin and stepfather, Gene Baskin Sisters, Debra Osier and Rhonda Carlile Paternal grandparents, Jack and Myrtle Carlile Maternal grandparents, Alan and Rhoda Seger and Father-in-law, Ervin Waybright Private Services were held.
