Graciela "Chela" Quintero

Graciela “Chela” Quintero, age 60, died Monday, February 13, 2023, in Liberal, Kansas.

She was born on June 25, 1962, in Zacatecas, Mexico to Vicente Castro and Aurora Castanon Lazalde. 

Chela was united in marriage to Claudio Quintero Sr. on September 23, 1985. She was the loving mother of four sons, Jorge, Claudio Jr., Diego, and Jesus (Jesse). She had an extraordinary capacity to love and care for others. She created a lot of joy and provided comfort to many during her life.

She is survived by

Her husband, Claudio Quintero Sr.,

Sons, Jorge Castro and his wife, Audrey of Liberal, Kansas, Claudio Quintero Jr. and his wife, Doris of Liberal, Kansas, Diego Quintero of Alvarado, Texas, and Jesus (Jesse) Quintero and his wife, Crystal of Liberal,

Brothers, Jorge Castro and his wife, Sandra Lucia, Eleazar Castro, and Carlos Castro.

Nine Grandchildren, Allayah Quintero, Anthony Gonzalez, Bailey Castro, Jaylee Quintero, Eligio Quintero, Brayden Castro, Lydia Quintero, Emilio Quintero, and Isaiah Quintero.

She is preceded in death by

Her parents, Vicente Castro, and Aurora Castanon Lazalde.

Visitation will be at 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Thursday, February 16, 2023, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2^nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

Vigil Rosary will be at 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 16, 2023, at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 17, 2023, at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas.  Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Augustine Owusu. 

Burial will follow at Liberal Cemetery.
