Geovany Edgardo Abrego

Geovany Edgardo Abrego, age 16, died Monday, March 20, 2023, at The Children’s Hospital in Aurora, Colorado.

He was born on October 2, 2006, to Yovani Abrego and Vivian Sevilla in Liberal, Kansas.

Geovany was a Sophomore at Liberal High School. He was a loving son and an angel for many. Geovany was an inspiration for many with an amazing smile, and bright eyes lit up the room. He was a hard worker and never paused to lend a helping hand. Geovany was very brave even as he went into this operation. Never once did he say he was scared. He was very respectful to those around him and a great friend. Geovany was very easy to love and will be missed by many. Although his time with us was short, he changed our lives forever, and with us he will always be.

He is survived by his mother, Vivian Avalos, step-father, Alfredo Avalos,

Father, Yovani Abrego, brothers, Alfredo Avalos Jr., and Alfonso Avalos, and sister, Avery Cooper.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Lorenza Subillaga.

Visitation will be 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday, March 27, 2023, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2^nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

Vigil Rosary will follow at 7:00 PM, Monday, March 27, 2023, at the St. St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas.  Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Juan Salas. 

Burial will follow at the Liberal Cemetery.

Geovany Edgardo Abrego, de 16 años, fallecio el lunes 20 de marzo de 2023 en The Children's Hospital en Aurora, Colorado.

Nació el 2 de octubre de 2006, hijo de Yovani Abrego y Vivian Sevilla en Liberal, Kansas.

Geovany era estudiante de segundo año en Liberal High School. Fue un hijo amoroso y un ángel para muchos. Geovany fue una inspiración
para muchos con una sonrisa increíble y ojos brillantes que iluminaban la habitación. Era un gran trabajador y nunca se detuvo para echar una mano. Geovany fue muy valiente incluso cuando entró en esta operación. Nunca dijo que estaba asustado. Era muy respetuoso con los que le rodeaban y un gran amigo. Geovany era muy fácil de amar y muchos lo extrañarán. Aunque su tiempo con nosotros fue corto, cambió nuestras vidas para siempre, y con nosotros siempre estará.
   

Le sobreviven su madre, Vivian Avalos, su padrastro, Alfredo Avalos,

Padre, Yovani Abrego, hermanos, Alfredo Avalos Jr. y
Alfonso Avalos, y hermana, Avery Cooper.

Le precedieron en la muerte su abuela, Lorenza Subillaga.

El velorio será de 9:00 a. m. a 5:00 p. m., el lunes 27 de marzo de 2023, en Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

El Rosario de la Vigilia seguirá a las 7:00 p. m., el lunes 27 de marzo de 2023, en la Iglesia Católica St. St. Anthony of Padua,
1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas.

La misa fúnebre será a las 2:00 p. m., martes 28 de marzo de 2023, en la iglesia católica St. Anthony of Padua, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal,
Kansas. La Misa será celebrada por el Rev. Juan Salas.
