Gary Lynn Jones

Gary Lynn Jones, age 69, died on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.

He was born on January 5, 1955, at the Epworth Hospital in Liberal, Kansas, to Freddie and Velma (Chessmore) Jones. 

In 1973, Gary graduated High School in Liberal, Kansas. On October 25, 1975, he was united in marriage to Debbie Daugherty at the First Assembly of God Church in Liberal, Kansas. Gary was the loving father of one son, Casey Lynn Jones and two grandchildren. Gary worked for 25 years for Weatherford as a truck driver and operator. He also drove a truck for Pacific Ag. Gary was a member of the New Beginnings Church and was a Soldier for Christ Chaplin. He loved to hunt, fish, and ride motorcycles. Gary was much loved and will be missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Jones of Liberal, Kansas,

Son, Casey Lynn Jones and his wife, Evangelia of Denver, Colorado,

Two grandchildren, Noah Thomas and Judah Lynn Jones,

Sister, Loretta Cunningham of Topeka, Kansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Freddie and Velma Jones,

Brother, Leroy Jones,

Sisters, Neoma Blake,

Fredia Jones, and

Brother-in-law, Verle Cunningham. 

Visitation will be 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 26, 2024, the family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 27, 2024, at the New Beginnings Church, 2021 N. Western, with Pastor Phillip Dow presiding.

An interment will follow at the Liberal Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions are suggested to The New Beginnings Church or the Liberal High School Class of 1973 in care of Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.
