Elizabeth M. “Bessie” Fetsch, age 93, died December 29, 2015 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS. She was born March 3, 1922 in Red Cloud, NE, the daughter of Vencil and Marie (Kafka) Maruska. She attended school in Red cloud, NE. She was a resident of Liberal for 57 years.On March 7, 1943, she married Thaddeus T. Sperry at Superior, NE. He died April 17, 1972.On December 9, 1978, she married John Edward Fetsch at Liberal, KS. He died December 9, 1982.She worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the Brodstone Hospital, Superior, NE, when she moved to Liberal, she cleaned homes, worked at Southwest Medical Center as a Nurse’s Aide, Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company cleaning offices, switchboard operator, mail clerk and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She enjoyed Gardening, Sewing, and Painting and was well known for her homemade Cinnamon Rolls. Survivors include2 Sons James R. Sperry and wife Gay Thornton, CO Thad A. Sperry and wife Kelly Bethany, OK1 Daughter Therese M. Symons and husband Bill Las Vegas, NV 11 Grandchildren and 33 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 Brothers, 5 Sisters, 1 Step Daughter, 1 Step Grandson and 1 Great Granddaughter.Visitation will be Saturday, January 2nd, 2016 from 10 AM to 5 PM. and Sunday 1 to 5 PM at Brenneman Funeral Home. The family will be present to greet friends for 3 – 5 PM Saturday.Rosary will be Sunday at 7 PM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.Funeral Mass 10 AM Monday January 4, 2016 at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Dieker presiding. Inurnment will be 10 am Tuesday, January 5th in Liberal Cemetery Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church or Wheatridge Park Care Center in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
