Dorothy Jean Bartel

Dorothy Jean Bartel 82, died, Friday, October 23, 2015 In Corpus Christi, Tex. She was born July 27, 1933 in Booker, TX the daughter of Joe and Vlasta (Pulpan) Purer. She had been a longtime resident of the Booker, Texas area moving to Corpus Christi, TX earlier this year to be close her son. She graduated from Booker High School, in Booker, TX. She was a homemaker and helped her husband farm and ranch in Balko, OK. She was a member of the Booker Christian Church in Booker, TX. She enjoyed traveling and camping and was a member of the Happy Campers Club for over 20 years. On February 22, 1952 she married Van Bartel in Clayton, NM and he died August 27, 2012. Survivors include. 1 Son Audie Bartel and wife Karla Corpus Christi, TX 1 Sister Alice Eccles and husband Russell Tulsa, OK 4 Grandchildren Shanna Jones and husband Josh, Bryant, AR, Becky Pauley, Vinton, VA, Colton Bartel and wife Morgan, Corpus Christi, TX and Quinton Bartel, Corpus Christi, TX 6 Great-Grandkids: Brooklyne Francisco, Caleb Cunningham, Kate and Addison Jones, Bailee Pauley, and London Bartel. She was preceded in death by parents, 1 son Steven Bartel and 1 brother Joe Ed Purer. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 at the Booker Christian Church in Booker, TX with Pastors Chuck Lightfoot and Ryan Riley. Burial of the cremains will take place at 4:00 pm Saturday at the Mennonite Church Cemetery in Balko, OK.
