David Allan Swanson

David Allan Swanson, 68, died Friday, December 13, 2024 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

 He was born on August 22, 1956 in Hobbs, New Mexico, to Lyle and Leah (Castor) Swanson.

 David graduated from Liberal High School in 1974. On July 1, 1978 He married Cynthia Hanna in Liberal.

 David worked as a warehouse manager for several Businesses.

 David loved his children and grandchildren. He was an avid book reader and enjoyed puttering around in his garage. David was big fan of both the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Minnesota Vikings.

He is survived by;

His wife, Cindy of Liberal, Kansas

Son, Christopher Swanson and his wife Haley of Yukon, Oklahoma

Grandchildren Payton Zapata and her husband Humberto and Hanna Swanson, both of Yukon, Oklahoma

His daughter, Amber Engelman and her husband Brandon of Liberal, Kansas

Grandchildren John, Rachael, Sophie and Riley Engelman, all of Liberal, Kansas

 Brothers Randy Swanson of Liberal, Kansas

Mark Swanson of Liberal Kansas

Brad Swanson of Honolulu, Hawaii

Sister Marie Swanson of Geneseo, Kansas

 He was preceded in death by his parents.

 Funeral services will be at 11am on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Faith Tabernacle, 514 N Kansas Ave., Liberal, Kansas, with Pastor Rex Petty Presiding. 

A Private family graveside will follow. 

Memorial contributions suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Shriner Children’s Hospital, in care of the Hornung Family Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
