Daniel Lee Harrison

Daniel Lee Harrison, Age 67, of Liberal, died Saturday, October 7, 2023, in Amarillo, Texas after a lengthy illness.

Daniel was born on April 6^, 1956, at the Epworth Hospital in Liberal Kansas, the son of William Dean and Helen Louise (Pierce) Harrison.

He graduated from Liberal High School and worked for many years as the night grocery manager at Dillions Grocery in Liberal.

As a boy he mowed the lawn at First Christian Church with an electric  lawn mower. He was active in Boy Scouts earning his Eagle Scout Badge by refurbishing the church bell at the First Christian Church. During High School he enjoyed being a part of the school’s chorus group and traveling with them to various places to perform. He had a great love of his Motorcycles over the years and was very upset when his brother crashed one. Daniel was a good worker, always looking for ways to make the work more efficient. He enjoyed having dogs as pets and worked hard to have a beautiful yard. Relaxation for him was watching car racing, particularly NASCAR.

Daniel is survived by his three children Ashley, Rachel and Bill, his Mother Helen, Brothers Dr. William Joseph, “Joe” Harrison, and his wife Linda and Martin “Mart” Harrison and his wife Sherrie. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Daniel was preceded in death by his father William Dean Harrison and his Grandparents.

Per Daniels request there will be no visitation. Funeral  Service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 10:00 AM, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel, 1212 West 2^nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

The Family has requested Memorial Donations to the American Legion Post # 80, in care of the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 West 2^nd Street, Liberal, Kansas 67901.
