Dale Merrill Hebbert

Dale Merrill Hebbert, age 89, died peacefully on Good Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Society in Liberal, Kansas.

He was born on March 10, 1936, in Gordon, Nebraska, to Merrill and Martha Lovilla (Leggett) Hebbert.

Dale graduated from Gordon High School in Gordon, Nebraska, where he first became involved in the Future Farmers of America (FFA). His passion for agriculture and leadership continued throughout his life, extending into his college years at Grace Bible Institute and the Nebraska University, where he studied for five years. It was during this time that Dale met Violet, the woman destined to become his wife, while he was traveling and singing with the Grace Choral. On July 11, 1959, Dale was united in marriage to his beloved Violet Joyce “Vi” DeBoer in Corona, South Dakota. Their union was one marked by deep affection and mutual support until Violet preceded him in death on February 10, 2017. Dale owned his own business as a hay grinder.

Dale and Vi began their family with three sons and one daughter. Their children grew up with love and support, embracing the values and traditions passed down from their parents. As the years went by, the family expanded with the arrival of nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren, each bringing joy and laughter into the home. Dale was also known for his enjoyment of coffee, and ice cream, particularly Mr. Burger’s Twist, where he often found fellowship and camaraderie among friends.

Dale attended the Gospel of Grace Church in Hooker, Oklahoma with Vi, where his faith and community were sources of strength and solace throughout his life.

Dale will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his unwavering faith, and the love he shared with those around him. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
