Charles Eugene Daugherty, Sr., age73, died Thursday, July 19, 2012 at his residence in Liberal, KS. He was born July 1, 1939 in Garnett, KS, the son of Roy and Juanita (Ashlock) Daugherty. He attended school in Iola, KS. He had lived in Liberal since 1961, moving from El Dorado, KS.He was owner and operator of Daugherty Pumping.He was a member of the Median Shrine of Wichita and Fargo #300 Masonic Lodge of Liberal. On Jan. 16, 1959, he married Thelma Jenell Hickman in Blackwell, Ok. She died Dec. 6, 2011.Survivors include4 Sons Billy Daugherty and wife Cheryl Liberal, KS Joey Daugherty Liberal, KS Rocky Daugherty Liberal, KS Charles “Gene” Daugherty, Jr. Liberal, KS 2 Daughters Tina Daugherty Chanute, KS DeAnna Daugherty-Burns Liberal, KS 1 Sister Pam Burns and husband Ray Hooker, OK 14 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his Parents and Brother, Teddy R. Bien.There will be no services. Cremation has taken place.Memorial contributions may be sent to the Fargo #300 Masonic Lodge in care of the Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
