Cecil D. Canterbury

Cecil D. Canterbury, age 88, of Liberal, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Southwest Medical Center, in Liberal, KS.He was born July 23, 1923, at St. Joseph, MO, the son of William Franklin and Ada Ruth (Hoover) Canterbury. He was a retired over-the-road truck driver, having been employed by Watson Brothers and Yellow Freight.He served in the 385th Engineering Co., 2nd Division, of the United States Army, during World War II.He married Beryl Marie Mc Donnell, on February 23, 1943, at Omaha, NE. She survives.Other Survivors Include1 SonCecil Franklin “Frank” Canterbury, and wife June, of Tyrone, OK.2 GrandchildrenMichael Ray CanterburyChristina Lynn CanterburyHe was preceded in death by his parents and 8 brothers – Joseph, Ray, Roy, Lee, Ernest, Floyd, and Lloyd.Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
