Brandee Elise Kurth

November 18, 1978 — December 6, 2011

Brandee Elise Kurth died Tuesday morning, December 6th, 2011, at Andover, Kansas in skilled nursing and rehabilitation from grave illness onsetting in the spring of 2011. On August 13th, 2011, she was airlifted to Via Christi-St. Francis and was discharged from initial emergency hospitalization on August 23, 2011; however, a second emergency hospitalization at St. Francis was required on September 3, 2011 and she remained hospitalized thereafter until October 3, 2011. Her condition improved slightly enough just prior to her second discharge for her direct transfer for admission to Victoria Falls, Andover. She remained there until her death Tuesday from the illness, diagnosed as terminal at St. Francis before her discharge. With the progression of the illness arose a wondrous new spirit of utmost beauty, charity and humor. Her efforts to battle and overcome the illness were overflowing with profound courage and humility. There were no complaints or expressions of self-pity despite horrendous pain and suffering. The turmoil engulfing her prior to the illness surrounded her even after the diagnosis, but the new spirit that she had become was at peace in its midst.
