Betty Jean Pennington

Betty Jean Pennington 89 died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011 at Waddell, AZ.She was born April 14, 1922 at Conrad, Iowa the daughter of Edward and Lena (Krominga) Brewer.She was a longtime Liberal resident moving to Sun City, AZ in 1978.She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Elk’s Lodge of Liberal. She was very active with the Methodist Church in Sun City, AZ and was very active in the community. On Jan. 26, 1946 she married Paul Cervenski. On Sept 20, 1958 she married Ralph Pennington and he died Aug. 94.She served with the US Navy from 1944-1946. Survivors include1 son Gary Pennington and wife Sherri Liberal, KS; 2 Grandchildren Kimberly Obholz and husband Larry, Grand Prairie TX and Derek Pennington and wife Christina of Hugoton KS.4 Great Grandchildren Braedan Obholz, Caden Obholtz, Kera Obholz – Saldana and Riley Pennington. Preceded in death by a Daughter Deborah Jean Dick; Brothers Verl Brewer, Russell Brewer and Lee Brewer; Sisters Velma Dahl and Juanita Moore Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 am Saturday, Dec. 3 2011 at Liberal Cemetery with Rev. David Randall presiding.Military Honors will be given by the American Legion Honor Guard.Cremation has taken place.
