Anna (Vom Hofe) Bryan, 89, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at Beaver Co. Nursing Home in Beaver, OK.She was born Sept. 27, 1923 at Kassel, Germany to Karl Martin and Anna Christina (Grigat) Vom Hofe.She graduated from high school in Germany in 1937 and then took courses in shorthand and typing.In 1945, she married Edward W. Bryan at Munich, Germany. He died January 11, 1989.She and her husband had bought Bryan’s Corner in the panhandle of Oklahoma in 1964 and she served as Secretary, Registrar and Notary Public. In 1982, they moved to Pheasant Run, north of Turpin and later to her home at Sudoeste in Liberal, KS.She had been an active member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal, where she was involved with St. Anthony Altar Society and Bible Study Group. She was also a member of SWMC Auxiliary and enjoyed working in the snack bar at the hospital.She is survived by herSon – Carl E. Bryan and wife Cheryl of Yukon, OK; Daughter – Christel W. (Bryan) Speer and husband Ron of Beaver, OK; 5 Grandchildren – Kevin Speer, Michelle Neville, Brandon Bryan, Bonnie Espinoza and Brooke Bryan; 15 Great-Grandchildren – Christin, Lauren, Morgan, Olivia, Noel, Daniel, Joshia, Emeline and Brenna Neville; Kaitlin, Allison and Nathan Speer; Carson Bryan; Elijah and Noah EspinozaShe was preceded in death by 4 Brothers – Rudolf, George. Alfred and Karl Vom Hofe and 5 Sisters – Margarete Vom Hofe, Hedwig Littwitz, Wilhelmine “Mimi” Vetter, Luise Baumecker and Josefine Vom Hofe all in Germany.Vigil and Rosary service will be 7:00 pm Wed. at Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal, KS.Funeral Mass will be 2:00 pm Thurs. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Liberal, with Fr. Jim Dieker presiding.
