Alfredo Varela, age 48, died May 3, 2012 at Dodge City, KS.He was born June 1, 1963 at Villa Union, Poanas, Durango, Mexico, the son of Anselmo and Isaura (Manzanales) Varela.He was employed at National Beef Packing Co. since Oct. 2001 as a forklift driver. He had also worked at Seaboard Foods.He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal, KS.On Feb. 26, 1997, he married Alma Angelica Gastelum in Liberal. KS. She survives.Other survivors include2 Daughters – Alma Milagros Varela of Liberal, KSNancy Maria Varela of Liberal, KS5 Brothers – Francisco Varela Manzanales of Baldwin Park, CARafael Varela Manzanales of Durango, MexicoCarlos Oton De Jesus Varela Manzanales of Villa Union, Dgo, MXSergio Anselmo Varela Manzanales of Liberal, KSHector Manuel Varela Manzanales of Villa Union, Dgo, MX5 Sisters – Ema Varela Manzanales of Villa Union, Dgo, MXElia Varela Manzanales of Villa Union, Dgo, MXEsperanza Varela Manzanales of Villa Union, Dgo, MXSelina Varela Manzanales of Asuza, CASandra Varela Manzanales of Las Vegas, NVHe is preceded in death by his parents.Rosary and Vigil will be 8 pm Wednesday, May 9 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Liberal, KS.Funeral Mass will be 9 am Thursday, May 10 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Fr. J. Hector de la Vega presiding. Burial will be in Liberal Cemetery.Visitation will begin 9 am Wednesday at the church.Memorial contributions may be made to the Alfredo Varela Memorial Fund in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
